Self Remedy

The name Self Remedy was created after realizing  and pursuing the desire to develop a better self and find various remedies in life. By add together Self (who we are in the world) and Remedy (the place, activity, thing, tv, movie, entertainment or happiness);  and simply remember to oneself  first in whatever one wants and needs to do. Side note: don’t wait until you're burnt out and can’t find a way out. Don’t keep getting inspired by workshops, podcast, books, motivation speakers and various other inspiration.

Due to the fact inspiration is all around us in books, movies, social media, etc., however for the busy bodies of the world we just don’t have time to sit and wait to be inspired. We have goals to accomplish. Our dreams, goals and future self is counting us. So taking time to self-care, or in better terms, “treat yo self!” can be a difficult task. It easy to get your nails done and shop. But how do you run on energy when our bodies are no longer able to function due to stress, toxic people un-filling jobs, career shifts, family and overall adulting struggles? The answer is, you don’t. Instead, you crash and become overwhelmed and nothing gets accomplished.

Self Remedy was created for that purpose specifically to cater the women who tend to strive to overcome and pour into everyone else but themselves. Our mission is not to just write, read and talk about self-care, but to actually implement it in our lives.  Our creator Shali (pronounced: Sha-lee)  Caver knows what it’s like to juggle multiple hats all at once and continues put off and delay her own self-care. Please Note:

  • Self-care is not being selfish.
  • Self-care is not just about getting nails, shopping and hair.
  • Self-care is about making time to be able to feed your own basic needs such as health/ wellness, eating or just taking time to recharge.

Self Remedy strives to;

  • Promotes the replenishment of self before others
  • Promotes and Develop unapologetic positive self talk (don’t be ashamed to brag or pat yourself on the bag for your efforts)
  • Promote the healthiness of saying NO and meaning it
  • Promoting healthy boundaries with other
  • Learning to pause/ recharge , relax, refocus, reapply energy in beneficial and less draining ways to self
  • Overall empower a self-caring mind to put oneself before others occasionally.
